Tell me 3
fun facts about yourself.
1.) I’m a Preacher’s kid. And it’s all true.
2.) I helped
found and open a successful craft microbrewery. I am a “hop head.”
3.) I am so hooked on soccer I wrote an entire
series about it!
If you could
bring one of your book characters to life for only one night, which one would
it be, and what would you do?
From the
Black Jack Gentlemen series (the Soccer team of Detroit) I would likely bring
Metin Sevim, the young Turkish player who ends his career because of horrific personal
tragedy only to revive it thanks to the owners of the Black Jacks who, with
help of a family member, convince him to come out of self-imposed exile and
retirement to coach the fledgling, hodge-podge of a team.
Metin is a
total romantic so he and I would go out on the town in Detroit, take in a
concert at the Filmore, have late night drinks at Valentine Distilling followed
by dancing, in a penthouse hotel suite…..
Is there
anyone you’ve always secretly thought of as sexy that other people might find
strange? If so, who?
I have this
thing for older guys and am 100% fixated on the U.S. Men’s national team coach,
Jurgen Klinsman. He is just…so awesome….
What’s the
worst/oddest present that you’ve ever received?
Spoons. Lots
and lots of serving spoons one year for Christmas. I still don’t know why but
my stocking was overflowing with the damn things (I hate to cook. Didn’t have a
#4 for “fun facts” so I’m tossing it in here).
Confession
time: What’s on your ipod right now?
The Good: You’ll Be Ok by A Great Big
World
The Bad: Welcome to Detroit City by Trick Trick Feat. Eminem (this is the official Black Jack
Gentlemen Pregame warm up song)
The Ugly: Bitch by Meredith Brooks
Do you have
any tattoos?
Nope, but I have sworn in private and online that if the U.S.
Men’s national team wins the World Cup I will have their logo tattooed on my
ass.
What’s your
favorite snack?
Alcohol.
Specifically a great, hoppy craft beer to go with my pretzels and cheese. Or a
really rich, chewy Italian red wine…or a well-crafted Old Fashioned. Yeah there
is a theme to this.
What’s your
ultimate fantasy?
Stepping out
of a limo onto the red carpet to meet the cast of my Oscar award nominated cast
for my thriller novel set in an “anti-dystopian Detroit” (that is being shopped
to agents at the moment). This of course is AFTER I attend a wrap party for the
tenth season of the premium cable series made from the Stewart Realty and Black
Jack Gentlemen series (they are intertwined). Then afterward attending the
Vanity Fair party where I take selfies with Bradley, Jon, Alexandar and the
gang from the cast…you know, before one of them takes me home to…oh you get the
picture. After which the one I choose (lucky boy) will wake me with fresh
coffee and my laptop, so I can, you know, write more for a living.
Thank you for joining me, Liz. I had a great time and hot pics are always welcome. If you get that tattoo, please keep my motto in mind--pics or it didn't happen. :-D
Now guys, please take a minute to get to know the author side of Liz.
**************
Amazon best-selling author, beer blogger
and beer marketing expert, mom of three, and soccer fan, Liz Crowe lives Ann
Arbor. She has decades of experience in sales and fund raising, plus an
eight-year stint as a three-continent, ex-pat trailing spouse.
Her early forays into the publishing
world led to a groundbreaking fiction subgenre, “Romance for Real Life,” which
has gained thousands of fans and followers interested less in the “HEA” and
more in the “WHA” (“What Happens After?”). More recently she is garnering even
more fans across genres with her latest novels, which are more character-driven
fiction, while remaining very much “real life.”
With stories set in the not-so-common
worlds of breweries, on the soccer pitch, in successful real estate offices and
at times in exotic locales like Istanbul, Turkey, her books are unique and told
with a fresh voice. The Liz Crowe backlist has something for any reader seeking
complex storylines with humor and complete casts of characters that will
delight, frustrate and linger in the imagination long after the book is
finished.
