I'm not crazy

There's a common factor for many authors, we grow up thinking maybe we're crazy. Most suffer from dark and unexplained mood swings. We have whole conversations in our minds where we are not actually involved at all, but instead, it's a conversation between people who do not exist. Our minds have a mind of their own, and sometimes it's a scary place. In comes social media and saves the day. Suddenly, we're not quite so strange because there are people out there who are experiencing the same things. The big problem with this social phenomenon is this, we've met pieces of our soul who most likely live thousands of miles away, and not only are authors crazy we are also notoriously poor.

This past weekend in Dallas, TX an event took place where some of those pieces came together.

Anyone who knows me knows that one of the great loves of my life is Melissa Craig. We host a show together on iTunes, we've written a book together, and we've spent countless hours together on Skype never thinking we'd ever spend a moment together in person. Until this moment:

Which led to this...

and ended two days later in tears at DFW International Airport.

For all the writers out there, or even the people who have friends scattered across the world, don't despair. You're not alone. We are all the same in our uniqueness.

For all the people listed above, I truly miss you and love you. For anyone interested in our crazy weekend, here's a link to more pics: Fun times

You've hit my heart with this one, Charity. Poetry at its finest.

    1. and it's so true. Maybe I'd only met y'all online before this past weekend, but I still loved y'all just the same. I don't think we find each other out of chance.

  3. Being a writer can be a lonely life but if you're happy with yourself and your characters, you're never really alone. There's a big difference between being alone and being lonely. I don't mind be alone but lonely is a sad state. Thankfully, my writer friends alway make sure I'm not lonely. I love this post. It says so much in so little space. Thanks. :-)

  4. You nailed it Charity. I definitely feel more complete after this weekend. Yet, less whole for having parted. Thank you for everything. Especially for allowing the hug invasions of your personal space.
