I issued a challenge to my fellow authors to bare their secrets on my blog all in the name of fun. They didn't let me down. Up next in my interview series is author Robert Zimmermann. 

Tell me 3 fun facts about yourself

1.) I completed Tough Mudder in Las Vegas in October 2012. So basically I have a legit reason to call people lazy.

2.) I do stupid shit like wake up and hop on my bike for a 40 mile ride sometimes….and I don’t live in a flat area AT ALL.

3.) Soon I’ll probably be able to build a house out of my book collection. I’m nearing 1600 books, and I have around 2600 e-books as well.

If you could bring one book character to life for only one night, which one would it be, and what would you do?

I’m sure you’re looking for some naughty stuff here…but I don’t think I have any for you :P
I’ve read many books and I’ve enjoyed many characters from them. One character from a book that I’m currently reading would be great to bring to life. From the book Taking on the Dead by Annie Walls, I think I’d bring Kansas to life. I’d learn what I could from her about survival during a zombie apocalypse because she’s survived four years on her own without issue (that’s in the beginning of the book at least). That’s valuable information, and she just seems like my kind of girl. Tough, knowledgeable…and ok I’ll bite…she seems pretty sexy as well. So four years of her living alone, I’m sure something will happen. Haha.

Is there anyone you’ve always secretly thought of as sexy that other people might find strange? If so, who?

I don’t think that anyone I find sexy is a secret not “strange,” in all honesty. I do find many different people to be sexy and all for their own reasons, but I don’t think I’d consider any of it strange. And I think most people would agree with who I found sexy. J

What’s the worst/oddest present that you’ve ever received?

I think most people would say socks, but I’ve actually gotten socks for Christmas before and thought it was a smart gift, haha. They were thick winter weight ones, so they are more practical (I don’t wear socks normally).
I think the worst present I’ve gotten was probably most of the stuff I’ve gotten in recent years from my mom. She’ll basically get random crap that shows no thought and that I can’t remember enough to list here. Simply get me a book or GC for books and I’ll be happy. Or nothing at all. I don’t need gifts anyway.
I wish I could remember a specific worst present, I know I’ve had some good ones before.

Confession time: What’s on your ipod right now?

The Good: I have a variety on my iPod and don’t put anything I think is bad or ugly on it…so here’s a sampling of artists: Aaron Lewis, Staind, Incubus, Ingrid Michaelson, Dierks Bentley, Darling Parade, Fools & horses, Hana Pestle, Lucas Carpenter, Julia Stone, Sara Bareilles, The Scarlet Ending. (There’s more, but that’s a good mix of things.

The Bad: Yea, like I said, I don’t bother wasting space with bad stuff :P

The Ugly: Ugly? Haha, like Britney Spears? Has never touched my iPod.

Do you have any tattoos?

No tattoos. I’m not against having tattoos, I just haven’t had the desire to get one and I don’t know what I’d want at the moment anyway.

What’s your favorite snack?

Idk. Pretty much whatever’s in the house…which is almost nothing almost all the time. I eat fruit a lot when it’s around. Apples mainly. I guess that can be my answer: Apples.

What’s your ultimate fantasy?

Simply put: Field, piano (optional because of logistics), thunderstorm.

Bio

                Robert has been writing poetry since the eleventh grade. His writing started as impulsive rambling, but soon became a passion. A few years later he attended SUNY Potsdam where he received a B.A. in Creative Writing.

                His main focus is poetry, but at times you can find him dabbling in short fiction. Robert has also created the blog A Life Among The Pages, where he posts his writing as well as book reviews.

                When he’s not reading or writing, Robert enjoys spending time with his dog, Deuc. Deuc ran out of the woods in August 2011 and they have been inseparable ever since.

"Where I Stand" by Robert Zimmermann is a beautiful collection of poetry. As a woman who spent some years as a single parent, I found "Living with Koopa" especially heartbreaking. Well worth checking out.
